For the last month or so, most of the country – and the world – has been maintaining a quarantine due to the Coronavirus. For many, this has meant changing to a working from home working environment, which may have led to a more casual work attire for some.

As it turns out, one of the leading naturism organizations in the world, British Naturism, saw an interesting spike in April with a more than 100% increase in their membership. Of course, one question that should be asked is “100% of what?” For me, it really doesn’t matter.

I think it is fantastic that there are people who are taking the opportunity to spend some of their isolation time working or living naked, but for some of those people to pull out their wallets to join a member-based nudist organization is outstanding! Something to be applauded.

As a home-based worker, the idea of working naked is not new to me. What surprises me is how often my friends – who know I like being clothes-free -seem shocked that I would actually work naked. While there are plenty of articles that would tell you to get dressed for the office in the morning (to be productive), that is not my norm.

For me, jumping out of bed, grabbing a coffee and getting to my desk to start work is the natural flow of my morning. The fact that I’m naturally (un-)dressed throughout that process means that there are no interruptions to my flow – no showers, no finding a clean shirt, or pants. (Side note: for anyone that connects with me through visual communication tools wouldn’t know that I’m working naked, as I always have an appropriate shirt available to slip on.)

Back to working naked, or doing things naked, what happens after Coronavirus is gone (or dissipates)? Will these people who found this new freeing way to work and live continue to do this after they “go back to work?” My hope is that this will continue and as the summer starts to get going in the Northern Hemisphere that we will see more people participating in nude activities.

And if you are one of those people who are new to nudism courtesy of this time in isolation, what do you think you will do?

  1. I have worked naked for years and wouldn’t have it any other way. I had my office in my home for 17 years and when it came time to sell the house and move, I made sure I moved to a private office. I now work naked as usual.
